Miscarriage Support Group

Join other women, men and couples in a caring environment for a monthly peer support group for those coping with a first trimester miscarriage. Throughout the sessions you will have the opportunity to share your story, explore coping strategies, learn from a medical expert, discuss relationship issues and consider family building options.

The group is open to all regardless of background, religion, gender and sexual orientation. Partners are encouraged to attend. Participants can join for one or all of the sessions.

For over 35 years the Pregnancy Loss Support Program (PLSP), a program of the National Council of Jewish Women New York, has offered free counseling and support for parents who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth and newborn death, termination for fetal anomalies, as well as to women who are pregnant following a loss.

About Instructor: Carole Nimaroff

A committed PLSP volunteer, Carole credits the support group she attended through PLSP for giving her and her husband the strength to endure their long, and painful journey towards parenting. Having experienced multiple first trimester pregnancy losses, Carole understands the feelings of deep grief, fear and hopelessness.  Her personal philosophy is: “take control of the process and the journey.”  Carole is not only deeply compassionate, but she is also a beacon of strength, endurance and hope. Carole is a practicing attorney and mom of four grown children.

PLSP’s support groups are led by professionally-trained facilitators who have experienced loss themselves.
