Dr. Copeland graduated from Harvard University and earned her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. A graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School, she worked as a strategy consultant for healthcare companies at The Boston Consulting Group.
She completed her adult psychiatry residency at New York University Medical Center and obtained further training in psychoanalytic theory and techniques from the Columbia Psychoanalytic Institute. As an attending psychiatrist in the psychiatric emergency room of Bellevue Hospital, Dr. Copeland treats patients with acute psychiatric complaints, supervises residents, and teaches medical students. She has written journal articles, book chapters, presented at national medical conferences and frequently gives lectures to psychiatry trainees on the subject of maternal mental health.
Dr. Copeland completed a fellowship in reproductive psychiatry and women’s mental health at New York University Bellevue Hospital Medical Center. She specializes in the treatment of women’s mental health and well-being throughout the reproductive life span; in particular, the management of peripartum mood and anxiety disorders, infertility and pregnancy loss.
