Dr. Heidi Esterman is a Psychology Fellow at The Motherhood Center of New York.
She completed her doctoral training at Yeshiva University – Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, where she conducted her dissertation research on the mind-body connection in psychotherapy.
Prior to joining TMC, Dr. Esterman finished her internship year at Northwell Health - Zucker Hillside Hospital where she received training in the perinatal population in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She has experience working with a wide range of diagnoses and presentations in the context of the perinatal period, including trauma, personality disorders, and severe and persistent mental illness. She has provided therapy services for women recovering from postpartum psychosis, depression, anxiety, and perinatal loss.
Dr. Esterman has also trained with general adult, college-aged, and geriatric populations at Brooklyn College Personal Counseling Center, Jacobi Hospital, Northwell Health and a community clinic in the Bronx, New York. Her training experiences have provided significant experience in life-transitions and the stressors associated with change and growth.
