Breastfeeding, Newborn Care and Baby Behavior


This class covers the basics of breastfeeding, newborn care and understanding your baby’s behavior.

  • Breastfeeding
    The prenatal breastfeeding/feeding goal of the class is to educate parents on how to successfully initiate breastfeeding. We will cover topics on benefits of breastfeeding for both mom and baby, how milk is made, breastfeeding positions and proper latching, common breastfeeding issues, how to tell your baby is getting enough, how to continue to breastfeed once mother returns to work, bottle feeding and safe formula preparation. Regardless what your feeding decision is, we will help you prepare on how to feed your baby!
  • Newborn Care 
    This part of the class helps prepare parents on how to care for their newborn. Basic topics covered include how to bathe, diaper, swaddle, circumcision and umbilical cord care, safe sleep practices, newborn characteristics and appearance and general baby care.
  • Baby Behavior
    This section of the class is designed to educate parents on normal newborn behavior such as infant hunger cues, newborn sleep patterns, reasons for crying.  The goal is to empower parents on how to respond appropriately to their infant needs.  


Instructor: Rosanna Terrero-Arnoux, RN CLC IBCLC CBE
Rosanna Terrero-Arnoux is a registered nurse and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. Rosanna is a graduate of New York University. She has been working in maternal-child health since graduating from nursing school. She has worked with women and babies in antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, neonatal intensive care units. She currently works at two major hospitals in New York City providing lactation support for women in the postpartum and neonatal intensive care units. She also has her own practice as an in-home lactation consultant and teaching breastfeeding classes.
